Brooks, Silas, and I went with some friends up north to a farm to get up close to some animals. The farm had cows, sheep, goats, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, cats, pigs, dogs, horses, a few ducks, and some monster-sized horseflies.
This is Farmer Sue. She owns and runs the farm. Can you see her string of pearls around her neck? She also had on a pair of very worn work boots which made for quite and outfit. She was wonderful with the kids and we hope to see her again soon. All the children got a chance to not only get up close to the animals, but hold, brush, and pet them as well.
Brooks was a bit skittish around all the animals except the chickens and a dog named Rose.
Silas seemed very small next to all the animals. Luckily, he slept through most of the outing.

The kids even got a hay ride through the pasture.
Brooks even got a chance to “drive” the tractor. I thought he would be more enthused, but at this point in the morning he was tired because of all the running around and the 95 degree weather.
I hope we get to make the trip again, but maybe next time it won’t be so warm.
I would have loved to see Brooks on the farm, what a little cutie. He is growing up. Grammy misses him so—-oooo bad.
Tara he looks so much like you in this pic..It's funny I can only see you in brooks, and Mark in Silas..
