Silas

I know he has been properly introduced to the world and there are a few facts about him that you already know, but as he has begun to wake up and we’ve had a few days with him there’s a lot about Silas that you may not know. So this post is entirely about him.

Facts: He loves to eat SLOWLY – it takes about 30 minutes for him to complete his meal. He now weighs 9lbs 8oz. He has gained over 19oz in less than 3 weeks. He still really likes to sleep. Silas has started to wake up only 1-2 times a night! Yeah! He has outgrown his newborn clothes and is getting ready to start wearing cloth diapers (I hope I can handle all the laundry). He doesn’t mind his brother’s attention (Notice I said doesn’t mind – he doesn’t really like it but he also doesn’t dislike it – as long as he doesn’t get whacked across the face). Silas looks a lot like his brother (see below picture – its Brooks). There are a few differences between their pictures. The main one being their hair color. Silas has light brown while Brooks had dark. Silas is dairy sensitive not intolerant (thank God!) so far. We still are crossing our fingers. He screams not cries. This has turned into an amusing cry rather than one that makes my blood pressure rise.

Some of you know how nervous I was to have another little life that I was responsible for living under my roof. I didn’t know how I could possibly love another child as much as Brooks or how I could care for both little ones, my husband, my home, and still have a little time for myself. Now that our little boy is here, I can’t imagine not having him. He has perfectly fit into our lives and we have had to make few adjustments. I am so thankful that God has chosen Mark, Brooks, and I to love him and care for him.

We love you Silas!
